Patagonia – The Destination of a Lifetime!

An angler holds up an impressive brown trout from a boat out on the open water with a large mountain peak behind them.

February 19-27, 2027 | San Martin de los Andes, Argentina

You’re invited to join ArkAnglers on a fly fishing adventure to one of the most sought-after destinations in the world!

The town of San Martin de los Andes is located on the shores of Lake Lacar in the Neuquen Province of Northwest Argentina. Known for its fly fishing, wooden chalets, tidy streets, and local cafes, this charming town also serves as the gateway to Lanin National Park.

Hosted in partnership with local outfitter Southern Loops Fly Fishing, this trip will offer a blend of stunning scenery, luxurious accommodations, authentic culture and cuisine, family hospitality, and world-class fly fishing! A family-owned outfitter since 2014, owner and head guide, Esteban, has 25 years experience fly fishing in Argentina, and both he and his guides value the personal attention and connections that come with a hosted group trip.

Why book a hosted trip?

While independent travel is always an option, when you join a hosted trip, you benefit from a powerful partnership.

You'll enjoy personal advocacy, group leadership, and pre-trip support of your host, all backed by Southern Loops proven ground operations, luxury river camps, and premier local guides.

This dual-layer structure guarantees complete peace of mind, allowing you to focus entirely on enjoying your trip.

Why Patagonia in February?

February is the prime summer window for fly fishing in Patagonia!

It offers the year's best dry fly action with prolific terrestrial insect activity, stable warm weather conditions, manageable water flows, and aggressive trout rising to the surface.

Six Days, Multiple Rivers!

This trip will consist of six days of guided fly fishing: a two-day overnight float followed by four day-trips that can be customized to floats or wades.

The overnight trip will take place on the Chimehuin River where we’ll take full advantage of our luxurious riverside campsite, complete with local Argentinian cuisine and world famous malbec wine. The remaining days will be spent exploring other rivers in the region, including:
